A new stage in the development of the Ukrainian startup ecosystem: Seeds of Bravery and LUCC unite to support innovators
On June 12, 2024 a significant event for the Ukrainian ecosystem took place – the signing of a memorandum of partnership between the Seeds of Bravery consortium (UASEEDs) and the Luxembourg-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce asbl. (LUCC). This cooperation opens up new horizons for Ukrainian startups in the European market and is a significant step in the development of international relations of the technology community.
Seeds of Bravery is a €20 million project of the European Innovation Council (EIC), funded by the European Union, to support Ukrainian technology start-ups and bring them closer to the EU.
The project’s aim is to foster diversity, develop the high-tech industry and stimulate Ukrainian innovation that benefits end users in Europe, Ukraine and beyond by bringing together corporations and governments for small and medium-sized enterprises and individual customers.
The Luxembourg-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce asbl. is a non-profit organisation founded in 2017 with the mission to promote economic and trade relations between Luxembourg and Ukraine. The LUCC is actively working to foster connections between the business communities of both countries, organising business meetings, forums and other networking events.
In addition, LUCC supports existing investors in Ukraine and attracts new ones, working to enhance the ease of doing business by improving communication and collaboration between government bodies, businesses, and international organizations.
The signing of this memorandum opens up new opportunities for the Ukrainian startup ecosystem. The cooperation between Seeds of Bravery and LUCC will open up new opportunities for young Ukrainian innovators, in particular:
- Access to international markets and investors
- Exchange of experience and best practices
- Participation in international start-up and acceleration programmes
- Establishing connections with European partners
It is worth noting that the organisation already has experience in supporting Ukrainian startups. LUCC organized the “Ukraine – Guest Country” segment at the important event NEXUS2050, which took place on 26-27 June in Luxembourg, where Seeds of Bravery startups were presented. Startups TechNovator, Uspacy, Cardiomo, CONSULTANT, Almexoft, FreedomCode, HOWCOW, SoftBees, 3D UTU, FluxHR, Salee, Progalit, Spendbase, Prana, AERND UKRAINE LLC, Trojan System and S.Lab successfully presented their projects and the Ukrainian tech ecosystem. This demonstrates the development of partnerships between organisations and a common interest in promoting Ukrainian innovations in the international arena.
“The signing of this memorandum is another step towards Ukraine’s integration into the global innovation space. It creates additional opportunities for young entrepreneurs and facilitates the entry of Ukrainian startups into the European market. The cooperation between Seeds of Bravery and LUCC promises to be a powerful stimulus for the development of the Ukrainian startup scene, opening up new horizons for innovators and entrepreneurs.” – noted Evgenia Paliy, President of LUCC.
